Centenary Competition to be Judged at the Garden Party

Don’t forget to bring your entry for the Centenary Competition to the Summer Garden Party.  Here is a reminder of the rules

July Centenary Competition  – 1915 – 2015

We encourage all our members to enter something that you have made. It could be in the form of knitting, cross stitch, baking, stitching, photo album, card making, candle making anything at all, and any size. Let those creative minds be free.

Competition Rules:

The item entered for the competition must have been made by the WI member.

It needs to have one of the following on it somewhere

WI 1915 – 2015

WI Centenary 2015

WI 100

All entries will receive a special acknowledgement for entering this competition and the winner will receive the latest WI Centenary cookbook.

Events this weekend 4th & 5th July

Its a busy weekend ahead.

City Gardens Walk

I hope those who are joining  us are looking forward to the tour of City Gardens with John Garrod it promises to be a great day out.

We will meet on the steps outside St Pauls Cathedral at 10.30am on Saturday 4th July, We will break for lunch at the Barbican where there is café restaurant or if you prefer you can bring your own pack lunch

Classics on the Green

Sunday 5 July 2015 from 11am to 4pm, Gander Green, Hampton

We have a small stand at this event where we will promote the WI and sell second hand books & CDs to raise some additional funds.  If you have any books or CDs to donate please drop them into Kit, she will have a collection box in here front drive  this week (1 Gresham Road) or you can drop then to the stall on the day.  If you can spare and hour or so on the stall that would be great so just pop along.

Wanted – Jars for Jams and Chutneys

Finally, Lesley is in Jam & Chutney making mood but need jars to put them in so please start collecting.  Lesley will also take any spare fruit you may have, soft fruits for jam and apples and pears for chutneys along with tomatoes green or red.
