VE Day Bunting

 ZOOM – Tuesday 5th May at 7.30pm

We are planning another Zoom meeeting on Tuesday, and are investing a subscription so the meeting can last a little longer than last time. We will publish the link here on Tuesday. We hope you can join us for an informal chat and perhaps you can share any progress with bunting, scrubs and bags

Great British Bunting

On Friday 8 May 2020 Britain will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day when the guns fell silent at the end of war in Europe.

Due to the coronavirus restrictions most VE Day 75 events and street parties have had to be cancelled or postponed but we still want you to be able to mark the occasion, share your pride in our country and honour the men and women of WW2.

You can make your own special VE Day 75 ‘Great British Bunting’ to display in your window at home.

You can make your bunting in lot of different ways, from fabric, card or knitted here is a link to idea from the BBC and you can find many more on YouTube

Hang your bunting with pride over the weekend of Friday 8 May – Sunday 10 May and make sure you share your pictures with us and on social media using the hashtags #GreatBritishBunting, #VEDay75

Virtual Crafting Tuesday 14th April

Hope everyone is safe and well.

Tuesday night is virtual crafting night

As we cannot meet at the White House on Tuesday we are encouaging you to enjoy WI in the comfort of you home.  This month we should have been crafting.  We can’t craft together but we can still craft and share our projects with the group.  You can choose your own craft project either starting something new or something you never quite finished, and if you dont craft perhaps there is something else you could share with us.

You can share pictures and videos throughout the evening via Facebook or Join us on a Zoom live video call.

Virtual Meeting April 14th

Hello Members,

I hope everyone is safe and well in these challenging times.

There are ways you can stay in touch with the group via this website and social media and we encoruage you to do this now more than ever.   Please complete the survey at the bottom of this post.

You can place comments at the bottom of any of these posts/emails – Initially you may need to register but thereafter you will be free to comment and interact.  If you are Facebook user please follow us, here is the link https://www.facebook.com/thehamptonwi/  It’s also shown in the left hand sidebar of the website.

But what about our meeting on April 14th – As you know all our meetings have been cancelled and the White House is closed for the time being.

Here is the challenge for 14th April – Complete an UFO – An Unfinished Objective

We have a lot of crafters in the group and if you are anything like me you have a stack of projects started but not finished. The half knitted scarf, sewing projects that just need buttons.

Here are a couple of my UFOs – Decoupage coffee table and a peg shelf that needs painting

The challenge is to complete or start something new on April 14th.   If your not a crafter then perhaps there is a box of photos you have wanted to sort for some time.  It really can be anything.   The imporatnt thing is to let us know about it.

I hope you are all up for the challenge, we look forward to seeing your projects throuhout the evening.

You can write comments on the webpage (but sadly not pictures) but you can post images to the Facebook page.

Please can you take a moment to complete this little survey and depending on your response we may look at other ways we can stay in touch via social media.

Thank you for your time.
