October Meeting

On Tuesday, 10th October, we will be making paper roses with Kit.

Kit will show us how to turn the pages from an old paper back book into a bunch of everlasting roses!

Please bring scissors if you can.

There will be a raffle on the night, tickets £1.

Non members are welcome to visit for a nominal charge of £2, which includes your tea and cake.

We encourage yo all to bring your own mug, so we can keep the use of paper cups to a minimum. Thank you.

March Meeting

Looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 14th for an interesting illustrated local history talk from Tony Hale. Tuesday’s presentation deals with the area surrounding Hampton Court Bridge. It’s the first of three talks on our local area that Tony has prepared.

You can find out more about our speaker here: https://camdenguides.com/guide/tony-hale/

Tony’s talks were very much enjoyed by members of Tutor Rose WI and I think he’ll go down rather well with us too.

Don’t forget to bring a mug and £1 for the raffle.

An ‘Historic’ February Meeting

On Tuesday 14th we welcome Lesley Alexander. Lesley and her team of volunteers create many of the incredible costumes worn by the actors of Teddington Theatre Company at the local Hampton Hill Theatre.

Currently working on historical costume for The Madness of King George III she will be revealing secrets of the magic of her often unsung team’s backstage hard work.

Expect funny stories, actual costumes to examine and answers to ‘how do actors manage quick changes’, ‘where do you source the fabric for historical costumes’ and more.

We are planning a theatre outing to see The Madness of George III at Hampton Hill Theatre on Tuesday 7 March – opening night! Using the theatre’s group booking scheme we are able to offer our members tickets at just £10. We will take names and the money at the February meeting on 14th.
