Sorry to send two blog posts in one evening but I wanted to keep the formal Annual meeting details separate  from the more fun and interesting news and events

IMPORTANT CORRECTION – The date of the light up Hampton Christmas event has been published incorrectly in a number of places (including this site)   This year’s Hampton Christmas Celebration will be held on Sunday 4th December 2016.

Knit and Stitch Club – Will take place on Wednesday 2nd November from 7:30pm, this months host is Liz Neilson (75 Wensleydale Road, Hampton).  Take along your own knitting, stitching or craft project.  Or help make green bunting for Christmas.

quiz_nightFinal reminder for the White House Quiz Night on Friday 4th November.
Doors open at 7:00pm for a  7:30 start.

Refreshments are available from the bar, so bring some cash and leave the car at home.

We have booked 2 teams (up to six players per team), you will need to pay your  £6 entry fee when you arrive.  If you put your name on the list but can no longer take part please can you contact Lesley.

Beading Workshop-Making a Christmas Angel

angelAfter the formality of the annual meeting, we welcome; Sue O’Riordan of Hampton Beaders. Sue will demonstrate and teach us to make a Christmas Angel from beads.

If you have free standing desktop magnifying glass please bring it along as the beads are very small.  There will be a small additional charge of £3 for visitors, in addition to the usual £2 visitor charge.

 

 

Annual Meeting – Voting for the new committee

At our next meeting on 8th November we will be voting the new committee for the coming year. The committee could really do with some fresh faces, to spread the load and help deliver an excellent and varied programme of events throughout the coming year.  If you think you could join the team please speak to Lesley or Kit.

Newsletter and dates for the diary

Whitehouse Quiz Friday 4th November at 7:30pm

Lesley has quiz_nightbooked 2 teams as we have 12 members wanting to quiz. The cost is £6/head. There will be drinks available  from the licensed bar & I believe also a raffle. Don’t forget this is a fund raising event for the Whitehouse.

If you can’t come please can you let Lesley know (email call or text on 07586325834) so we have a chance of finding somebody else to take your place.

Remembrance Day-Wreath laying ceremony  November 13th.
Each year the WI take part in the annual wreath-laying ceremony, if you are able to represent the Hampton WI this year please speak to one of the committee
The Parade will assemble at midday in front of the Methodist Church, Percy Road, Hampton, ready to march off precisely at 12.15pm for the annual wreath-laying ceremony at 12.30pm in front of the Hampton War Memorial Cottages in Oldfield Road, opposite Gander Green.

Light up Hampton Sunday November  27th 

jarsIn addition to our usual cakes and bakes we are planning a Jam Jar tombola so please bring your filled and decorated  Jam Jars and any spare jars you may have to the next meeting or drop them off to Kits door step box.  There are plenty of ideas of how to fill your jars on-line we don’t want them all full of sweets.
