Hello, I hope you are all enjoying your summer. September is creeping up on us and Hampton WI will soon be back in full swing with meetings and events.

I have 10 tickets for the annual gathering of WIs in the Spelthorne Group. Each year a different WI act as hosts, our hosts for 2017 are Sunbury WI. The venue is Ashford Community Centre and tickets are £4. See the photo for details of the evening’s entertainment and the other WIs involved. Please contact me if you would like me to reserve you a ticket, you can pay me at our first meeting in September.

A key feature of this annual event is the competition. This year’s theme is ‘Homemade Hats’ – I will send out a separate blog post about this – watch this space!

 

 

Would anyone like to come on a summer afternoon walk.  The route is about 5 miles in total and can be shortened to about 3.5 for those who want a  more leisurely walk.  We will start the circular walk at Wyevale garden centre, near New Haw. (Addlestone).  Those wishing to take the shorter route can return to the garden centre for tea and cake, while others complete the route.

When : Tuesday 22nd August.
Time : 2:00pm.
Meet : The White House. (So we can share vehicles)

Another WI ‘end of term’ approaches.

On Tuesday we will celebrate summer in our usual style – PIMMS, shortbread, strawberries and an entertainer. Ever wondered how those amazing balloon creatures and flowers are made – without popping the balloon? On Tuesday you will be finding out!
